Lois Vranesh Scholarship

The Merlin Players proudly offer a scholarship to any  high school graduate who has been accepted at an accredited two or four year college for a full time course of study.  Recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, community involvement, leadership quality, school activities, and involvement in TMP and/or other theatre productions.

Lois Vranesh was a founding member of The Merlin Players, a counselor at Faribault High School and a music educator, having taught piano to three generations of players. Lois also was the music director for more than 20 TMP musicals and appeared onstage many times. She is best remembered  as the incomparable Daisy in “Driving Miss Daisy,” Eleanor of Aquitaine in “The Lion in Winter” and Mrs. Watts in “A Trip to Bountiful.” Since her death four years ago, The Merlin Players has worked to keep her memory alive through its dedication to excellence and also through its intern program for young people. This scholarship is one more way to ensure that Lois’ legacy to us all continues.
